ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Jamie. I’m a Louisiana native, and I’ve called Baton Rouge home since 2012. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University, and my Master’s of Divinity in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with several years of experience in the therapy world.
I believe therapy should be an inclusive space, and enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, an advocate for body positivity, and strongly believe in supporting my clients pursue a life that aligns with their own personal values.
When I’m not in therapist mode, you can probably find me at the movies, out for a walk, or grabbing an iced latte!

Approaches I Use *
-
Self-compassion is all about changing the way we relate to ourselves. By increasing our awareness of personal suffering, believing in our inherent worthiness, and actively choosing to treat ourselves with kindness, we can revolutionize the way we live our lives.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is focused on improving psychological flexibility. By practicing acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions, we free up energy to take committed action towards a more value-driven life.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was developed to help individuals who experience emotions very intensely. I incorporate various DBT skills in my sessions to help clients learn to be more mindful, navigate interpersonal challenges, regulate emotions, and tolerate moments of distress.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an approach to treating trauma with the goal of reducing the emotional charge of traumatic memories. It allows the brain to adapt the way it stores traumatic memories in order to move towards healing.
